The Western bridle is used for American-style western riding and the bridle doesn't usually have a noseband. Many western bridles also lack browbands, sometimes replaced by a one ear, split ear, shaped ear or slip ear design where a small strap encircles one or both of the horses ears to provide extra security and keep the bridle on. Some Western horse show styles do not have a throatlatch but most working styles do. |
